Living history stroll

From 4:00PM to 6:00PM

Portsmouth Community Theater celebrates the town's 375 birthday with a living history walk starting at the Brown House on Linden Lane in Glen Park. Friday 9/6 from 4-6 p.m. and Saturday and Sundeay 9/7 and 9/8 from 1-3 p.m. Come stroll the grounds and learn about the fascinating history and stories of this area from actors portraying some of the people who actually lived there.

Baby Steps to Hold September 6 Fundraiser

Baby Steps, a volunteer-run program for infants and toddlers, will hold a fundraiser at the Tennis Hall of Fame grass courts on Friday, September 6, at 4:30 PM. A silent auction will be conducted and guests may play tennis while learning about the program, which is entering its fifth year. Auction items include an Alex and Ani gold necklace, Newport Restoration Foundation tickets, a private tennis lesson from Brian Shanley, Tennis Pro at Point Judith Country Club. Appetizers, wine, and beer will be available. Tickets are only $35 per person. The rain date will be Friday, September 27, but the board members are hoping for the best! For ticket information or questions about the program, email Baby Steps president Linda Finn at Steps, a community effort open to children ages 0-3 of all cultural backgrounds and experiences, supports increased parental involvement through interactive activities that raise children's social and literacy skills in order to achieve a lifetime of learning and success.
