The Narragansett Rune Stone that was founded off Pojac Point in 1984 has been tied back to travels of the Knights Templar.  The stone which was examined by a forensic geologist contains symbols that link it to the secret society. It may also be linked to the Newport Tower, a stone structure in Newport’s Touro Park. According to Patch, The Narragansett Rune Stone is being kept at the Narragansett Bay campus of URI and town council members would like the stone displayed in Updike Park in Wickford.
