Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel says industry and government needs to improve innovation in the building of weapons systems.  Hagel was in Newport yesterday to address a defense industry conference.  Hagel says American dominance in the air, sea and space cannot be taken for granted any more.  He also thanked the many area submarine industry executives on hand, saying the region has become the Silicon Valley of undersea warfare.
