The Portsmouth Water and Fire District is notifying customers that its water exceeds a standard for disinfection byproducts. According to a news release from the district, this is not an emergency and customers do not need to boil water or take other action.  The disinfection byproducts develop as treated water ages. Steps have been taken to lower the levels and anyone that would like more information can contact the Portsmouth Water and Fire District at 683-2090.
