The federal government is pledging 13-million-dollars towards a proposed streetcar line in Providence. The 117-million-dollar proposal would create a circular route running through downtown to South Providence. Now that the federal money is secured, it's up to the city to figure out where the final 104-million-dollars will come from. Congressman David Cicilline pushed for this project while mayor of Providence, and says it will mean jobs, business development and a more walkable Capital City.
