The Newport Yachting Center pleaded no contest yesterday to multiple noise violation charges that were lodged against it since June of this year. Even after spending about $180,000 to help control the sound levels prior to the start of the concert season. The sound level at almost a dozen of the concerts was still above the city limit of 75 decibels. According to the Daily News, the attorney for the Yachting Center said they were going to examine ways to further reduce the noise levels.
