The majority of law enforcement and court officials in Rhode Island are white.  A "Providence Journal" investigation found that the state's criminal justice system is made up of several white police officers, judges and lawyers.  The newspaper also found that there are only three judges and four lawyers of color in the state, out of nearly 100.  The Providence NAACP says the racial disparity directly affects the community's confidence in the state's criminal justice system.
