There's a new place for people to get their hot dog fix in Smithfield. Sonic Drive-In opened its first location in the state yesterday on Putnam Pike. The unique eatery serves up burgers, fries and shakes car-side by a roller-skating server. The fast food joint will be open 7 a.m. until midnight. Construction kicked off in July.
