The "Dancing Cop" controversy is back on the table for City Council members in East Providence. Every holiday season, Tony Lepore, or the "Dancing Cop," takes to the streets of Providence to direct traffic while dancing. He was ousted from the position after orchestrating a protest against a local Dunkin' Donuts shop concerning the Black Lives Matter movement. One councilman offered Lepore two-thousand dollars to direct traffic, but not everyone is in favor of the move. Some fear that the dancing officer will bring negative attention to the city, while others think it is a great idea. The City Council is expected to vote on the matter today.
