The Barrington Police Department is accused of being too hard on children who have allegedly violated the state's social media laws. The ACLU wrote a letter to the police chief, asking the department to reexamine three cases involving minors. One incident involved a 12-year-old boy sending an inappropriate picture to a 12-year-old girl. The second, involved a teenage boy posting an explicit video clip of a girl. The final incident involved a 15-year-old boy cyberstalking four girls. The ACLU says that the department is being, quote, "overenthusiastic" when it comes to social media crimes.
