(Undated)  --  Here is the latest news: Snow is in the forecast on Monday.  One man has been arrested for a fatal crash in Rhode Island early on New Year's Day and police are looking for another driver in a separate incident.  The New England Patriots are returning to the NFL playoffs.

>>Monday Forecast Calls For Snow On Block Island 

(Undated)  --  The National Weather Service is predicting two-to-three inches of snow on Block Island on Monday.  The snow is expected to be out of the area by the evening.  The weather service is calling for one-to-two inches in Newport.  The rest of mainland Rhode Island is only looking at a dusting, according to the latest forecast.

>>Deadly New Year's Day Crashes In Warwick, Lincoln 

(Undated)  --  Police have one person in custody and are searching for another individual allegedly responsible for deadly motor vehicle crashes overnight Saturday in Rhode Island.  Aramis Segura of Charlestown was arrested for a fatal two-vehicle crash on I-95 in Warwick which killed Olivia Passaretti, a student at East Greenwich High School who was in the second vehicle.  Meanwhile, authorities are seeking Gregory Miller of Pawtucket after he apparently fled the scene of a single-vehicle crash on Cobble Hill Road in Lincoln.  The passenger who died was identified was Nanleomariz Albizu of Providence.

>>Patriots Clinch Playoff Spot With Win Over Jaguars

(Foxboro, MA)  --  The New England Patriots are going back to the playoffs.  The Pats clinched a postseason berth on Sunday with a 50-to-10 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars at Gillette Stadium.  New England missed the playoffs last season for the first time in over a decade.  At 10-and-6, the Patriots have the same record as Buffalo atop the AFC East Division, but the Bills hold the tiebreaker.  The final regular season games next week are New England versus Miami and Buffalo versus the New York Jets. 

>>Rhode Islanders Seeking To Be Tested For Coronavirus 

(Providence, RI)  --  The state of Rhode Island is addressing a high demand for COVID-19 testing.  Governor Dan McKee directed over a half-dozen testing sites to remain open on New Year's Day Saturday.  WJAR-TV reported some people at the Providence Career and Technical Academy on Sunday left without getting a test because of how long the line was.  The state is planning to re-open the Rhode Island Convention Center in Providence for coronavirus testing and vaccinations next week.

>>Alleged Providence Bank Robber Arrested

(Providence, RI)  --  A man has been arrested for a bank robbery in Providence.  Thirty-three-year-old Victor Sanchez is accused of robbing the Citizens Bank in Kennedy Plaza on December 20th.  Sanchez is being held until he appears in court. 

>>Men's Basketball: URI Beats American International College

(Kingston, RI)  --  The University of Rhode Island men's basketball team beat American International College at home Sunday, 70-to-55.  URI had a twenty-day break caused by the pandemic, and the game against Division 2 A-I-C was a last-second schedule change.  The 9-and-3 Rams are set to open their conference schedule versus George Mason University in Virginia on Wednesday.
