(Undated)  --  Here is the latest news: The National Weather Service is predicting up to a foot-and-a-half of snow for parts of Rhode Island this weekend.  RI state treasurer Seth Magaziner is no-longer running for governor; he is now focusing on running for Congress.  An arrest has been made in connection to a homicide at a Pawtucket cigar lounge.

>>Winter Storm Watch For Rhode Island

(Undated)  --  All of Rhode Island is under a Winter Storm Watch from the National Weather Service from Friday night to Saturday night.  As of this morning's forecast, the weather service is predicting 8-to-12 inches of snow for most of mainland RI.  The predicted range for Aquidneck Island and Block Island, as well as southeastern Massachusetts, is 12-to-18 inches.

>>RI Treasurer Magaziner Running For Congress

(Cranston, RI)  --  Rhode Island Treasurer Seth Magaziner is focusing his political future on an open Congressional seat.  Magaziner announced Wednesday he is dropping his bid for governor and focusing on the RI 2nd District.  Incumbent Representative Jim Langevin [[ LAN-juh-vin ]] is retiring after the end of his current term.  Magaziner at a press conference in Cranston yesterday stressed how important it was that the seat remains in the Democratic Party's control.

>>Coronavirus Death Toll In Rhode Island: 3,275

(Providence, RI)  --  Rhode Island reported twelve new coronavirus deaths on Wednesday.  The pandemic death toll in the Ocean State increased to three-thousand-275.  There were about 16-hundred new virus cases yesterday.  The COVID hospital patient count was four-hundred-79.

>>Arrest Made After Pawtucket Cigar Bar Shooting 

(Pawtucket, RI)  --  An arrest has been made in connection to a fatal shooting in Pawtucket.  Trequan Baker of Providence was picked up on charges including first-degree murder for the shooting outside of the Fab City Cigar Lounge on Newport Avenue earlier this week.  The shooting apparently stemmed from a fight inside the bar, which has been temporarily closed by the city's board of license commissioners.  The Pawtucket Police Department pointed out that the arrest was made possible by the new license plate-reading surveillance camera system that is being used in the city of Cranston.

>>Man Wanted For Deadly RI Crash Was Staying At Hotel 

(Undated)  --  A man who was wanted for a deadly crash in Rhode Island is in custody.  Keith Brown of Fall River, Massachusetts was reportedly located at a hotel in Seekonk, Mass on Monday.  Brown apparently skipped an arraignment in December.  He was wanted on charges including DUI and driving to endanger resulting in death for the crash in Hopkinton on Halloween last year which killed 88-year-old Elisabeth Thayer of Westerly.

>>Men's BB: Friars Beat Xavier 

(Cincinnati, OH)  --  In men's basketball, Providence College continued its best start in decades with a 65-to-62 road win over Xavier on Wednesday.  The Friars are now 17-and-2.  Weather-permitting, they'll host Marquette at the Dunk on Saturday.
