(Undated)  --  Here is the latest news: Big snow is coming to Rhode Island this weekend.  Thirteen COVID deaths reported in RI yesterday, but the hospital patient count is continuing to fall.  A manufacturer of pens in Rhode Island has auctioned off what was left after the company was sold.

>>Winter Storm Warning For RI

(Undated)  --  The National Weather Service has placed all of Rhode Island under a Winter Storm Warning.  It's in effect until midnight Saturday night.  About one-and-a-half feet of heavy snow is expected in RI and portions of eastern Massachusetts.  The weather service adds that winds are expected to gust as high as 60 miles per hour. 

>>Coronavirus Death Toll In Rhode Island: 3,288

(Providence, RI)  --  Rhode Island reported thirteen new coronavirus deaths on Thursday.  The pandemic death toll for the Ocean State increased to three-thousand-288.  There were over 16-hundred new virus cases reported.  The hospitalization rate in Rhode Island decreased yesterday with four-hundred-41 COVID patients counted. 

>>More COVID Test Kits Being Provided

(Providence, RI)  --  Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee is announcing the distribution of a half-million additional COVID-19 at-home rapid tests.  They will be made available to cities, towns and community organizations over the next week.  That's on top of the five-hundred-thousand test kits the state received earlier this month. 

>>Garland Writing Instruments Holds Auction 

(Coventry, RI)  --  A Rhode Island pen-maker is saying goodbye.  Garland Writing Instruments in Coventry held an auction this week.  The items up for bid were left over from a sale of the company last year.  The business was started nearly a century ago.  Garland pens were used by Nancy Pelosi to sign the articles of impeachment against former President Trump in 2020. 

>>Tickets For Garth Brooks Gillette Stadium Show On Sale 

(Foxboro, MA)  --  Tickets to see country music legend Garth Brooks at Gillette Stadium are going on sale on Friday.  Brooks is playing at Gillette on May 21st after the resurgence of the coronavirus pandemic forced the cancelation of the originally-scheduled concert last fall.  Tickets are available exclusively through TicketMaster.

>>Men's BB: URI At Dayton 

(Dayton, OH)  --  The University of Rhode Island men's basketball team is at Dayton Friday night for a 7 p.m. tipoff.  The Rams lost 70-to-63 at home versus Richmond on Tuesday.  Rhody is 12-and-6 overall and 3-and-3 in the Atlantic 10 Conference.
