The first NFL game at night was hosted in Rhode Island. The Steamrollers played in a 10,000-seat stadium that was built for bicycle races called the Cycledrome.
The Cycledrome was built in 1925 by sports promoter Pete Laudati. Located on North Main Street, near the Providence-Pawtucket line, it was later the location of E.M. Loewe's drive-in theater, then Ocean State Job Lot, then the Peter Pan Bus Terminal.
