(Undated)  --  Here is the latest sports news: The Patriots have placed veteran running back Ty Montgomery on injured reserve with a knee injury.  The Yankees are hanging on for a 7-6 extra inning win over the Red Sox to open their two-game set in Boston.  Week Three of the college football season is right around the corner.

(Foxboro, MA)  --  The Patriots have placed veteran running back Ty Montgomery on injured reserve with a knee injury.  Montgomery caught three passes for 15 yards and a touchdown against the Miami Dolphins.  The 29-year-old will be out for a minimum of four games.  New England signed wide receiver Lil'Jordan Humphrey to the active roster and offensive tackle Marcus Cannon to the practice squad in corresponding moves. 

>>Yankees Top Red Sox In Extra Innings

(Boston, MA)  --  The Yankees are hanging on for a 7-6 extra inning win over the Red Sox to open their two-game set in Boston.  Marwin Gonzalez and Aaron Judge went deep in the win for the Bronx Bombers.  Judge now has 57 home runs on the season.  Jeurys Familia was tagged with the loss after allowing three runs, two of them earned, over an inning of relief.  Triston Casas, Reese McGuire and Xander Bogaerts hit a home run for the Red Sox, who are now 69-and-73.

(Undated)  --  Week Three of the college football season is right around the corner.  The Huskies face a tough test as they look to get back to .500.  UConn visits Ann Arbor Saturday afternoon for a battle with fifth-ranked Michigan.  UMass is still in search of its first victory of the season.  The Minutemen play host to Stony Brook on Saturday.  A pair of 0-and-2 teams will square off in Chestnut Hill.  Boston College hosts Maine Saturday night. 

>>Revolution Drop Second Straight

(Houston, TX)  --  The Revolution have dropped back-to-back matches after falling 3-1 to Houston Dynamo FC.  After falling behind by one in the first half, Carles Gil scored on a penalty kick in the 63rd minute to tie the game at one.  Dorde Petrovic stopped eight of the 11 shots he faced on goal.  New England remains at 38 points and will play host to CF Montreal on Saturday night in Foxboro. 

>>Sun Drop Game Two Of WNBA Finals

(Las Vegas, NV)  --  The Sun are on the brink of elimination after dropping Game Two of the WNBA Finals.  Connecticut was topped 85-71 by the Aces in Las Vegas.  Courtney Williams led the Sun in scoring with 18 points.  Jonquel Jones recorded a double-double after scoring 16 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.  Connecticut will look to extend the series tomorrow night when it hosts the Aces in Game Three in Uncasville.
