NFL Week 10 is a bye week for New England, which now has a record of 5-and-4.

(Houston, TX) -- Classical High School alum Jeremy Peña was named the MVP of the 2022 World Series as his Houston Astros won their second title on Saturday. Peña was born in the Dominican Republic before his family moved to Providence. He played college baseball at the University of Maine.

(Providence, RI) -- Record high temperatures fell across Southern New England this weekend. The National Weather Service says Providence reached a new high temperature for the date of November 6th when it hit 74 degrees at T.F. Green Airport on Sunday. The forecast calls for one more day in the 70s across the region on Monday before a cooldown.

(Swansea, MA) -- A teen driver has died after a weekend crash in Swansea, Massachusetts. Police say 17-year-old Ethan Kielec of Swansea was killed in a crash on Marvel Street late Friday night. A 17-year-old passenger was reportedly injured. Authorities are continuing to investigate.

(Taunton, MA) -- One man is dead after a shooting in Taunton, Massachusetts. The Bristol County District Attorney's Office says 38-year-old Ross Copeland of Raynham, Mass was killed in a shooting at the corner of Mason and Myrtle Streets at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. No information is currently available on a suspect or possible motive.

(Boston, MA) -- A Rhode Island man is being sentenced for trafficking multiple victims to engage in prostitution. The Justice Department says 48-year-old Ronald Hall of Woonsocket has received an 18-year federal prison term. Hall pleaded guilty to charges including four counts of sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion. Prosecutors say he targeted victims who suffered from substance abuse disorder, and made some brand themselves with a tattoo of his nickname.
>>Coast Guard Drops Search After Empty Kayak Discovery
(Newport, RI) -- The United States Coast Guard suspended a search on Saturday after an unmanned kayak was found in the area of the Newport Bridge. A team from the Castle Hill station, a helicopter from Cape Cod and the Newport police and fire departments were involved in the afternoon search. WPRI-TV reports the Coast Guard indicated the kayak had fishing gear on board, but it was unclear if it was ever occupied.
