(Mystic, CT) -- A major fire was still being fought overnight Monday in Mystic, Connecticut. The Westerly Sun reports at least nine departments from Connecticut and Rhode Island responded to the blaze that started Sunday night at Seaport Marine on Washington Street. The downtown Mystic area was reportedly blanketed in smoke. No injuries have been reported at this time.

(Newport, RI) -- A Rhode Island student-athlete has died in a crash. Drew Ceppetelli played for the Salve Regina University softball team. The 21-year-old senior from Barrington, New Hampshire was in a car accident in Portsmouth, NH on Thanksgiving. Authorities believe speed and impairment played a role. Salve Regina head softball coach Shauna Mulkerin described Ceppetelli as "truly one of a kind and lit up every room she walked into."

(Foxboro, MA) -- The New England Patriots team plane has completed another mission. The jet was used to transport members of the University of Virginia football team to the funerals of their three teammates who were killed in a recent shooting. The Patriots played on Thursday night ahead of the weekend memorial gatherings.

(East Providence, RI) -- WPRI-TV reports three people, including a police officer, were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries in a crash in East Providence Sunday night. This was at around 7:30 p.m. The East Providence Police Department says the officer was responding to an emergency call with lights and sirens on when the head-on crash happened near the intersection of Pawtucket and Taunton Avenues. The crash remains under investigation.

(Cranston, RI) -- An arrest is made in connection to an alleged stabbing in Cranston. A mother and daughter at a residence on Alto Street told police they were slashed by Shania Vincent of Warwick on Sunday morning. The suspect is reportedly the girlfriend of the younger victim's ex-boyfriend. The women suffered minor injuries. WJAR-TV reports Vincent is set to be arraigned on Monday for felony assault and disorderly conduct.
>>Providence Bruins Sweep Crunch
(Providence, RI) -- The Providence Bruins swept the Syracuse Crunch on the road this weekend to stay in first place. The P-Bruins beat the Crunch 5-to-3 on Friday, following that up with an overtime win on Saturday, the final score 6-to-5. The next game for Providence is Wednesday at Bridgeport.
