(Undated)  --  Here is the latest news: Snow is in the forecast in Southern New England today.  Rhode Island Governor Dan McKee has released the annual budget.  A new chief judge has been appointed in the Providence Municipal Court.

>>Most Of Rhode Island Forecast To Avoid Measurable Snow Today

(Undated)  --  The National Weather Service is forecasting less than one inch of snow for most of Rhode Island on Friday, except for the northwest part of the state which could see higher totals.  The same storm could drop a half-foot of snow in north-central Massachusetts.

>>McKee Releases FY '23 Budget

(Providence, RI)  --  Governor Dan McKee introduced a state budget proposal on Thursday which came in at 13-point-7-billion dollars.  That's an increase of about 150-million dollars from the previous fiscal year.  McKee is proposing a lowering of the Rhode Island sales tax from seven to six-point-85 percent and pausing a scheduled increase in the gas tax.  The governor also wants to spend nearly sixty-million dollars more on education.

>>New I-195 Commission Chair

(Providence, RI)  --  Governor McKee is announcing a new chairman of the Interstate 195 Commission.  Marc Crisafulli [[ chris-uh-fool-ee ]] has been on the commission since 2019.  He previously worked as the president of Bally's and as general counsel for GTECH, which is now IGT, the official lottery provider of Rhode Island.  Crisafulli is replacing Robert Davis, who resigned from the board in December after five years holding the position.  The McKee administration says the next few years will be pivotal in the I-195 Redevelopment District in Providence.  Five projects have already been completed, and three more are set to begin construction in 2023.

>>Trial Continues Against Pawtucket Officer

(Warwick, RI)  --  A Pawtucket police officer's criminal trial is expected to continue on Friday.  Daniel Dolan is charged with assault with a deadly weapon for the shooting and wounding of a teenager, Dominic Vincent.  Dolan is on trial in Kent County Superior Court.  He allegedly shot Vincent without cause during a confrontation in a West Greenwich parking lot in 2021.  Vincent took the stand on Wednesday and Thursday.

>>Frank Caprio To Become Providence Municipal Court Emeritus Judge

(Providence, RI)  --  Frank Caprio is transitioning from the role of Providence Municipal Court Chief Judge.  The Providence City Council gave Caprio a volunteer emeritus role on Thursday and promoted associate judge John Lombardi.  Caprio has become known worldwide through the popular "Caught In Providence" television series.  The Providence Journal reports the Caprio family announced the show would cease filming with Caprio's retirement.

>>Patriots Playing In Germany

(Foxboro, MA)  --  The NFL is announcing the New England Patriots will be playing a game in Germany in 2023.  The Pats have played three times outside of the United States, in London twice and in Mexico City, and they are 3-0 since the first game in 2009.  This will be the first time New England is designated as the home team.  A date and matchup will be confirmed at a later time.

>>P-Bruins Versus Wolf Pack Twice

(Providence, RI)  --  The Providence Bruins take the ice twice this weekend.  The P-Bruins are on the road versus the Hartford Wolf Pack on Friday night with a 7:00 puck drop.  The Bruins host the Wolf Pack on Sunday at Amica Mutual Pavilion.  That game starts at 4:05 p.m.
