>>Snow Expected In Providence County

(Undated)  --  The National Weather Service has placed Providence County under a Winter Weather Advisory north and west of the city of Providence.  The weather service is predicting two-to-four inches of snow for the advisory area on Monday, which includes Foster and Smithfield.  The snow forecast for the capital city is one-to-three inches.

>>Whitehouse Goes To Ukraine

(Undated)  --  Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse was among several senators who visited war-ravaged Ukraine last week.  Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut also made the trip to Kyiv, meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky.  The three senators presented a unified front, praising the fighting spirit of the Ukrainian army.  They also tried to calm fears of some Ukrainians that the Republicans who are now in charge of the U.S. House would cut war funding.

>>Man Charged For Warwick Crash

(Warwick, RI)  --  A man appeared in court on Friday for a crash in Warwick that caused serious injuries.  Eighteen-year-old Jaden Berthole [[ burr-toll ]] of Taunton, Massachusetts was arraigned on two counts of driving to endanger resulting in serious personal injury and reckless driving.  The car-versus-SUV crash happened on Thursday afternoon in a school zone on Sandy Lane.  Police reports point to speeding as a possible factor.

>>RIPTA Bus Hits Pedestrian

(Providence, RI)  --  WJAR-TV reports authorities are investigating a collision between a pedestrian and a Rhode Island Public Transit Authority bus in Providence on Friday.  A woman was reportedly in a crosswalk on Exchange Terrace when she was struck at around 5:30 p.m.  The pedestrian was hospitalized and they are recovering.

>>Attorney Voluntarily Disbarred

(Providence, RI)  --  A Rhode Island lawyer has been disbarred.  The Providence Journal reports John Ciolli agreed to be disbarred by the Rhode Island Supreme Court last week after he acknowledged he was being investigated for unspecified professional misconduct.  Back in 2010, Ciolli was temporarily suspended from practicing after he was convicted of bookmaking in connection to a gambling ring led by mob associates in Providence.

>>Volleyball Spike Accidentally Triggers Sprinklers At East Providence HS Gym

(East Providence, RI)  --  Serious damage was avoided to the East Providence High School basketball gymnasium during a recent incident.  EastBayRI.com reports a student was playing volleyball during a phys-ed class when the ball was accidentally smashed into the fire suppression sprinkler system.  The superintendent said the sprinklers discharged hundreds of gallons of water.  Warwick-based Clean Care New England was called into service.

>>Bruins Split Home-And-Home With Hartford

(Providence, RI)  --  The Providence Bruins split with the Hartford Wolf Pack this weekend.  The Bruins beat the Wolf Pack in Hartford on Friday, 5-to-3.  Hartford won at Providence on Sunday, 4-to-3 in overtime.  The P-Bruins are now 23-8-and-8, good for second place in the AHL Atlantic Division.
