(Woonsocket, RI) -- A woman is under arrest for the killing of her father in Woonsocket. Thirty-eight-year-old Jennifer Pamula [[ pah-MOOL-uh ]] is accused of killing 70-year-old Joseph Pamula. The senior Pamula was found dead at the family house on Cato Street Monday. Jennifer Pamula is facing arraignment for first-degree domestic murder.

(Providence, RI) -- The Providence Police Department announced a significant drug bust on Tuesday. A search warrant executed last week at a residence on Bellevue Avenue reportedly yielded nine kilograms of fentanyl and three kilos of cocaine. Providence police captain Roger Aspinall said the bust will save lives and cut down on overdoses. Two men were taken into custody at the scene, while the target of the investigation, identified as Juan Martinez, has been incarcerated in New Jersey. Aspinall says a warrant for Martinez is being drawn up.

(North Providence, RI) -- One current and one former North Providence police officer are facing state embezzlement charges. Detective Christopher Petteruti is on unpaid leave. Former lieutenant Dennis Stone retired last month. A grand jury returned an indictment against the two after a years-long investigation by the Rhode Island Attorney General's Office. Petteruti and Stone are charged with embezzling an undisclosed amount of money from the North Providence police union. Petteruti served as union treasurer, and Stone was president. They have pleaded not guilty in Superior Court.

(Providence, RI) -- The long-running deputy speaker of the Rhode Island House of Representatives has been stripped of the title. WPRI-TV reports House Speaker Joseph Shekarchi has selected Representative Ray Hull of North Providence for the role. Charlene Lima exits after holding the position for over a decade. Shekarchi said Hull is reflective of his leadership style in that they are both collaborative, consensus-building and moderate Democrats. Lima, who represents Cranston, said she did not feel included in her party's decision-making over the past two years.

(Westerly, RI) -- The Westerly Sun reports a Hallmark store in the town which was believed to be the last one operating in Rhode Island has closed. Putnam's Hallmark Gold Crown in the Franklin Street Shopping Plaza had its last day on Monday. Other area stores on Hallmark's website have converted to the Massachusetts-based business The Paper Store.

(Foxboro, MA) -- ESPN reports longtime New England Patriot Devin McCourty has had shoulder surgery. It is unknown how long McCourty will need to rehab. The 35-year-old has not missed a game since the 2015 season. He has yet to announce if he will return in 2023.
