(Providence, RI) -- A polar vortex gripping the region over the weekend penetrated the warming center at the Cranston Street Armory in Providence. High winds shattered several windows at the Armory Friday night, letting in single-digit temperatures. A spokesperson for Governor Dan McKee said a team including the emergency management director and the National Guard worked quickly to get the windows fixed.

(Warwick, RI) -- Cold weather caused issues at T.F. Green International Airport on Saturday. WJAR-TV reports some flights were delayed after a pipe burst and flooded in the arrivals area. The affected section of the airport was closed for the cleanup.

(Plainville, MA) -- Plainridge Park Casino in Plainville, Massachusetts was evacuated on Saturday afternoon for a gas leak. The Mass State Police says the leak came from a rooftop unit and apparently involved a burst sprinkler pipe. The casino says there were no injuries.

(Burrillville, RI) -- A police investigation is underway after a body was pulled from a pond in Burrillville on Sunday. The female victim was reportedly discovered partially submerged in Little Round Top Pond at around 11 a.m. and was recovered by the Harrisville Fire Department. The body was taken by the Rhode Island Medical Examiner's Office.

(Providence, RI) -- The founding artistic director of the Trinity Repertory Company in Providence has died. GoLocalProv.com reports Adrian Hall passed away at the age of 95. The death was announced on social media by a longtime friend. Hall was credited with putting Trinity Rep on the national map. He guided the theater to a Tony Award in 1981.

(Los Angeles, CA) -- Rhode Islander Viola Davis has accomplished the "grand slam" of entertainment. Davis has added a Grammy to her Emmy, Oscar and Tony awards. The Central Falls native won the Grammy on Sunday for best audio book, narration and storytelling recording for her memoir "Finding Me". Davis joins the exclusive "EGOT" Club which includes Andrew Lloyd Webber, John Legend, Mel Brooks and Whoopi Goldberg.

(Providence, RI) -- The Rhode Island General Assembly's Black and Latino Caucus has changed its name. The new title is the Black, Latino, Indigenous, Asian-American and Pacific Islander Caucus. State Senator Jonathon Acosta and Representative Leonela Felix, the co-chairs of the caucus, say the name change reflects its evolving values and mission, and that they look forward to advocating for disenfranchised residents of the state.
