(Undated) -- Congressman David Cicilline will leave office on June 1st. He will become the president and CEO of the Rhode Island Foundation, which funds nonprofit organizations. Re-elected for a seventh term last November, Cicilline describes serving the people of the First District as the honor of his lifetime. The secretary of state's office says a special election will be held to fill the seat.

(Lincoln, MA) -- Poker returns to Bally's Twin River Lincoln this Thursday. The casino says the poker room will be open on a limited basis from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. until more dealers and staff are hired. Poker was suspended three years ago because of the pandemic.

(Pawtucket, RI) -- A 71-year-old Pawtucket man with dementia who was reported missing yesterday has been found. Police said Joao [[ jow ]] Silva was located this morning on the banks of the river behind the former Apex store on Main Street. He was taken to a hospital for treatment due to exposure to the weather.

(Providence, RI) -- A convicted killer has been sentenced to life in prison. Forty-two-year-old Leron Porter was found guilty by a jury in October for the 2011 shooting death of 17-year-old Tiphany Tallo in Providence. Prosecutors said she was fatally wounded during a violent brawl involving the families of both Porter and Tallo. Attorney General Peter Neronha said the defendant deserves every minute of the sentence imposed.
