Tenants in R.I. foreclosures

Legislation will be filed to prevent banks from evicting tenants living in foreclosed houses until the property is sold to new owners.  The legislation states the new owner would have to be a non-financial institution in order for an eviction to take place.  Currently, tenants living in foreclosed houses have only 90 days before they can be evicted without cause.  Sponsors of the tenants' rights legislation will hold a State House news conference on Thursday.
