R.I. ACLU objects to mandatory flu shots

The state chapter of the ACLU is against a proposal to require mandatory yearly flu shots for children between the ages of six-months and five-years of age, before they enter preschool or daycare programs.  Those who are not immunized, even for medical or religious reasons, would have to stay home during flu outbreaks.  The ACLU says the regulation proposed by the state health department imposes a "significant burden" on parents without long-term benefit to public health.
