Bills have been filed in the House and Senate to prevent tenants from being evicted from foreclosed properties without just cause.  Currently, tenants living in foreclosed houses have only 90 days before they can be evicted without cause.  The legislation would prevent banks from evicting tenants until the property is sold to a new owner.  It also specifies the new owner would have to be a non-financial institution in order for an eviction to take place.
